An internal combustion engine thrives on more. Force as much gas and air into it as you can and it produces more horsepower.
We don't work that way.
The starving artist cliché has some truth to it. The hungry boxer who wins the match story line has a reason for its existence.
Once a level of success is reached, a desire for achievement dwindles.
Since your primary instinct is for survival, you will naturally kick back and take it easy when you are well fed.
Self-help and personal achievement may not start at the bookstore, they may start at the refrigerator. Thin out the pantry and eat just enough so that you remain hungry, you might just find the desire to achieve more.
