just write

If you're going to blog then you better write.

If you don't write all that often then forget about blogging.

If you do write then write for yourself. Don't write for an audience because there won't be one at first, so just write.

Don't write in short hand, not everyone who reads your blog will understand your abbreviations. Show the reader some respect even though you are writing for yourself.

Check your writing before you hit the publish button. Don't write too much at one time because no one will read all of it. A little here and a little there and you move on down the road.

If you haven't written very much then read your blog out loud before you publish it, does it sound like you're listening to a good conversation? If it does then publish. You don't need to know all the rules of English by heart because you already know most of them by instinct.

If it sounds right then it probably is, and if it sounds right and it is not correct then it is writing with character.
