It is a universal human failing, to choose style before substance.
'The Expert From Afar' is a good illustration. When someone comes from another place they are automatically bestowed extra credentials.
It is all about the difference between perceived values and real values. That's called advertising.
When you know what you have it is not as interesting as what you think you might get. Of course much of what is advertised to us as new and improved really isn't any better, if at all better, than what we already have. But the package sure is pretty.
So many of us keep going, throwing away tools that have been faithful servants and have lots of life left in them, for something new.
The new always wears off,the must have newest thing ends up in the closet and there is never time to admit a mistake.
