a helping hand

One thing I have always noticed a shortage of is help and support when you are trying to do something.

Family and friends will tell you that they are there for you but try something different to find out if this true.

Go ahead, tell them you are going to sell Amway and become rich and watch as they distance themselves from you.

Well I have a plan.

If help and support from family and friends is something you can't depend on when you need it then provide it yourself to someone else in need. I think this might work just as well!

For instance you may feel the need to exercise and your family doesn't know why you bother. This wears on you, I know, and sooner or later you get tired of the workout in the gym and the workout defending the workout when you get home.

Well if you can't get support at home then give it to someone else. The act of helping someone who is doing the same thing that you are is invigorating. It will provide you with the energy you should be getting from friends and family.

If you cannot receive what you need then give it away and it will all return to you.
