real lemmon

Here is a cut and paste from a blog that is in my Blogs Worth a Look links.

I just discovered this fellow last week. I'm really pleased with myself!

"The thing is, I would rather be forced to play guitar for the rest of my life with only three fingers than to be somebody else’s idea of a success. I just left a very high-paying job - with a life-sucking, morally compromised organization - to do what I love. Laziness, corruption, and incompetence just don’t suit me, I guess. I’ll be poor from here on in, and alone a lot of the time, but that suits me fine. Life has never been better.

I’ve always said that all I’ve ever needed from life were a guitar, a kiss, and a loaf of bread. While that’s a bit of an exaggeration, I do think that I could live as happily as I am now with much less than I already have. I don’t need the car, really. Don’t need a lot of the fancy furniture, either. Yes, I’m keeping the stereo, but you can take the t.v. I wouldn’t part with my washer/dryer, but the dishwasher is certainly superfluous. I’m certainly no fashion-plate. The last time I bought something to wear was about three years ago. So much is just “stuff” (Note: I’m not talking about ”stuffing” here: I would not wish to make do without a spleen or a kidney).

The things that make life worth living for me aren’t things you can take away: a snuggle in the morning, music, imagination, sunny weather, sleep.

Oh, yeah, and lemons.

Think about it: what could you do without? No, scratch that: What could you do BETTER without?"
